Food Bank (Anglicare)
For individuals and families in urgent need of food.
Beacon Cafe (Anglicare)
For anyone who is financially or socially disadvantaged.
Salvation Army Cairns Corps
Emergency relief is available for singles and families in financial distress. Aid includes food and financial assistance.
*Central intake number (1300 371 288) must be called before coming to local site for assistance.
St Vincent de Paul Call and Support Center
Information and referral, food and/or food vouchers, clothing vouchers for use in Vinnies shops.
Hambledon House Community Food Pantry
Emergency relief for food and toiletries to Cairns South residents who may not have access to Emergency Relief. The Food bank is open Monday- Friday from 9am-4pm no referral needed, no appointment needed. The food pantry aims to provide enough food and toiletries for the short-term needs. Tel: (07) 4037 2874
The Upper Room (Living Light Gospel Church)
Catering to those in need. Free wifi, tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches. On Sunday morning a continental breakfast.
Youth Support Program – YSP Crew Evening Outreach (Anglicare)
Offers support to young people. Access to food, showers and food cards.
Services for young people in Cairns. Food parcels, hygiene supplies, baby supplies, assistance with medical treatments/ procedures.

Quigley Street Night Shelter
Crisis emergency accommodation with one nutritious evening meal and breakfast included (for homeless and rough sleepers 18+, ATSI and broader community)
– 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Street Level Youth Care
Provides food, counseling, friendship and support to homeless and disadvantaged young people.
Freshwater Care (Freshwater Church)
Emergency support and relief for individuals and families in crisis.
Q.I.T.E Community Pantry (Maraway Community Hub)
The Community Pantry provides basic food and toiletries for those in need at minimal cost.
Marlin Coast Community Centre
For Individuals and families (residing in the Northern Beaches catchment area) who are experiencing financial hardship or crisis. Food cards, food parcels and vegetables (when available).
Rosies Cairns Branch
Connects with people in need, who are abandoned, socially isolated, lonely. Provides a drink and a bite to eat.
Who are we?
We are a group of specifically trained Christian volunteers from across all Church denominations who want to make a practical difference in the city of Cairns, by caring for alcohol and drug intoxicated or other vulnerable people and by helping keep the night club precinct safe.
